In need of an MMO suggestion.

Hi everyone.

First of all, loving the new site guys and as always love the podcast Smile

I've been an avid MMO player for many years now and have recently stopped playing WoW after realising that I actually hate the Fantasy MMO's. The last MMO I really enjoyed was SWG until the CU and NGE killed that off and I haven't found a suitable replacement since.

With The Old Republic MMO at least a year away I was hoping someone might be able to recommend a Sci-Fi based MMO which they have played and one that's not too late in the day to play (Eve for example).

If anyone has any thoughts I would be very grateful.

Thanks again guys

Star Trek Online sounds like a good bet, it only went public about 2 weeks ago.

Thanks for the idea's. I did think about Star Trek Online, but after reading some of the negative reviews I was hoping that someone would be able to recommend an MMO they had played recently.

Thanks again :)

Champions online might be worth a bash. I've twice tried to get into MMOs , get quite into them for a short while then get bored as the realisation dawns on me that I'm essentially just moving around a map and clicking on a mouse and pressing a couple of keys at strategic times.

Too true,Deeg.

May I direct you to a ditty I wrote on the tropes of STO's ship combat:

It really does break the mould when it comes to MMO interaction.

Thanks again for the suggestions everyone.

On a whim, I went out the following day and picked up STO and am having a blast playing it :)

I did try Fallen Earth as well, but this felt very unfinished and almost thrown together. I understand it was done by a small developer, but it wasn't for me.

Anyway, enjoying STO now and thanks for the input :)
